Arifco, Saudi Diyar excel in Seiko-JBLIC cagefest

JEDDAH, 12 April — Arifco defeated Completa 76-54 in Seiko-JBLIC year 2002 basketball tournament held in COCG basketball court in Industrial City State phase 1. Arifco played like an overhauled engine as they run havoc all over the floor with their accurate snipping. Completa even undermanned tried to hold their nerve but lose their steam in the fourth quarter. Agustin was top scorer with 22 points for Arifco while Velasco scored 17 points for Completa.

In the next game, United Carton beat Nepro 74-49. United Carton showed supremacy in the shaded area. Nepro tried to catch up in the fourth quarter but United Carton showed toughness in the end game to secure their third straight victory. Veneracion scored 26 points for United Carton while Reyes was top scorer with 16 points for Nepro Plastic.

In another game, FFP Sunbulah scored victory over Basahm Goody 89-81. Scores kept changing sides during the game until FFP Sunbulah unleashed a couple of fast break plays to take charge of the driver’s seat. Mohammad Al Shieka, administrative manager of FFP Sunbulah hailed his players after their hard-earned victory. Cecilio scored 20 points for FFP Sunbulah while Rongavilla topscored with 28 points for Basahm Goody.

In Thursday’s game, KIA Motors beat Lux Binzagr 78-46. KIA Motors continued to dominate the tournament with their run and gun offenses. Lux Binzagr tried to keep the game at bay but lose their steam due to only 6 players showed up to play. Amazona and Tancio scored 17 and 15 points respectably for Kia Motors while Calso top score with 28 points for Lux Binzagr.

In the next game, Saudi Diyar Consultants defeated Al Aoun Factory 60-46. Saudi Diyar controlled the game up to the 3rd quarter. Al Aoun Factory tried to sneak back to the game with their man-to-man defense but Saudi Diyar kept their composure in the end game to secure their third straight victory. Manila and Salcedo scored 12 points apiece for Saudi Diyar while Inotantes topscored with 13 points for Al Aoun factory.

In another game, Jedac won over Giordano Fashions 73-55. Both teams played well. Jedac attacked the defense of Giordano Fashions in the fourth quarter. With 12-0 burst in the last 5 minutes of the game, Jedac never look back and secured the win. Goirdano Fashions even lack in height gave Jedac a fight up to the last second of the game. Monteza top score with 24 points for Jedac while Lugtu and Manahan scored 18 points apiece.
