Pineda sparkles as KAMC claim awards: OFWBR tilt

RIYADH, 12 April — Little-known Abel Pineda displayed one of his finest forms to lift the KAMC team to emerge as the best bowler and best team of the week in the 9th week of the OFWBR Paistaran Regulated Monday Bowling League at the Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel Bowling Centre.

Pineda, a Class D player and equipped with 15 handicaps per game snatched the coveted best bowler of the week award when he tallied a four-game series of 814. Pineda’s heroics performance gave honor to KAMC team mentored by Francis Grace Gloria for clinching the best team of the week award. Providing splendid support to Pineda were team-members Ted Gutierrez, Francis Gloria, Mags Bongcarawan and Danny Castro. Gutierrez and Francis posted a series of 799 and 705 in four games while Bongcarawan scored 600 series. Vher Sahagun toppled a series of 575 in three games and Danny Castro snatched 428 series in two games.The KAMC collected 22 big points over their rival, the D’Alleygators of Rolly Manalang to win the match.

For D’Alleygators team, heading the list of the best scorers was JR Bagon with 801 points in four games. Rudy Flores is next to Bagon who had the best output of 709. Clem Salazar, Mon Nilo and Manalang posted a separate three-game series of 559, 504 and 500. Joe Concepcion scored 388 series in two games and Dante Prado rolled 161 in one game outing.

The Adrenalin team of Rizal Dellosa rolled past the Vision 2 (19-7) and saw Dellosa led in the Adrenalin team with a series of 756 in four outings. Chris Bautista and Jing Sahagun together with Ed Sesperes sparkled to score a series of 719, 738 and 692. Henry Sonias added a series of 632 in three games.

Mario Samson, Ruben Diaz and Alex Bandoy, Vision’s reliable players led by posting a four game series of 727, 703 and 702. Arman Caraig poured 655 series in four games and Norman Espejo toppled 552 series in three games.

The ABB All Stars of Ramon Teodoro recorded a 14-4 victory over the TJ & Co. and at helm in the ABB All Stars were the trios of Keng Raymundo (725), Atoi Ramos (721) and Edwin Bathan (715). Mel Solas and Glenn Espiritu supported the ABB All Stars team by contributing a series of 685 and 632, respectively.

The duo of Benjie Lorenzo and Louie Agtarap are on top in the TJ & Co. by downing a separate four game series of 699 and 690. Nestor Lantada and Jane Guiang pocketed a series of 535 and 512 in three games. Esther Melgar and Nestor Zara garnered a series of 350 and 314 in two games.

The Monday Paistaran Monday Regulated bowling league is organized by the Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR) and supported by the Skyfreight Forwarders, Philippine Airlines, Philippine National Bank.

Meanwhile, the 2nd OFW Worldwide Summer Balikbayan Bowlfest is set on April 25 at the SM City Bowling Centre. Registration fee is PHP2,000 inclusive of balikbayan souvenir T-shirts sponsored by the SkyFreight Forwarders through its general manager, Emy de Guzman.
