RIYADH, 1 May — Saudi Arabia is planning to train about 1.5 million women on civil defense activities, Asharq Al-Awsat, a sister publication of Arab News, reported quoting a senior official. The Arabic daily said a large number of female Saudi teachers will be given training on safety matters in the first phase of a yearlong civil defense campaign scheduled to start on May 12.
Maj. Fahd ibn Abdullah Al-Nafie, head of the central information committee for the campaign, said the department has planned to train a total of 2,481 female teachers throughout the country in coordination with 15 charitable organizations.
