Preparations on for security campaign

JEDDAH, 3 June — A preparatory meeting for the third phase of a nationwide security campaign was held here yesterday under the chairmanship of Maj. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani, director of police in the Makkah region. The campaign will begin on Sept. 7 and continue for 45 days. Al-Qahtani said this year’s campaign will highlight the importance of cooperative insurance in reinforcing the concept of traffic security. It will also aim at raising the awareness against reckless driving. A project has been devised to enhance traffic awareness of schoolchildren as part of the campaign.
