RIYADH, 10 June — The Philippine Overseas Labor Office is offering a crash course in PC Assembly, Troubleshooting and Basic Networking as part of its Megabyte Project for Filipino workers in the Kingdom.
To run for only four Fridays beginning June 21, the course is open only to Filipinos and is aimed at encouraging them to develop their entrepreneurial acumen in the field of computer hardware and to broaden their understanding of computer technology.
All trainees will be asked to participate in the process of assembling a PC set, including parts of the CPU.
The seminar-workshop is being offered in cooperation with the Computer Society of Filipinos (ComSoFil) and will benefit the Barya Mo, Buhay Ko fund-raising drive for stranded Filipino workers.

Meanwhile, ComSoFil vice president for education Jun Zoilo said the group is scheduling a separate “Train the Trainors” course prior to the opening of the society’s Cluster Program on August 2.
The training will focus more on the new XP versions of Windows and Office softwares.
Considered one of the most useful Filipino community organizations in the Kingdom, ComSoFil had been responsible for helping many OFWs not just know how to use computers but to understand how these work.
On June 20, ComSoFil will hold the graduation ceremonies for participants of its first semester cluster program at the Philippine Embassy ground.
