JEDDAH, 21 June — The 9th Computer Literacy Program of the OFW Cooperative Council (OFWCC) is now open to interested participants. To start next on June 28, the program is open not only to members of the Filipino community in Jeddah but to those in nearby areas as well, OFWCC spokesman Fred Castolome said.
“The 7-Friday seminar is meant to help Filipino expatriates acquire the necessary tools to upgrade their skills to help make them more competitive in this age of modern computers,” said Castolome.
The subjects covered are: Windows Mellenium operating system for Day 1; Microsoft Word 2000 for Day 2; MS Excel 2000 for Day 3; MS Power Point for Day 4, MS Access for Day 5; Internet /Web Page for Day 6, and PC Assembly on the final day.
The OFWCC is concluding its Livelihood and Entrepreneurship seminar today at the Tropicana Restaurant, with Professor Nelson Doren discussing Tilapia, Prawn and Bangus farming for the morning session.
During the noon break will be a film showing a complete package of restaurant business operation, courtesy of Manny Carandang. This will be followed by a discussion on investment opportunities by Jimmy Leonida, Edesia Cristino and Gil Martos.
The seminar is practically free as lecturers and organizers (OFWCC secretariat) are all volunteers. Participants are requested to share only on expenses on venue/food expenses and hand-outs.
