Alkhobar VEEP map out activities

ALKHOBAR, 21 June — A Filipino organization in the Eastern Province, whose sole mission is to encourage player and spectator participation in volleyball, has as new set of officers.

The officers of the Volleyball Enthusiasts of the Eastern Province (VEEP) were inducted into office recently by Ransam Pirote, a representative of Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO/OWWA) in the Eastern Province.

The officers are: Edmund Nicolas president; Jonathan Paglalunan, vice president; Ronald Espiritu, secretary; Maria Theresa Amante, treasurer; Louie Exclamador, auditor; Robert “Kim” Cortez, press relations officer.

Also sworn into office were Board of Directors members Enrique Piguing, Esperidion Mendoza, Rocky Lumicao, Mercedita Soliven, Christine Montecino, Antonette Briones and Ma. Lourdes Silverio; and advisers Maripaz Sales, Roque Sedano, Ransam Pirote and Dexter Tucbang.

Nicolas said the organization aims to conduct trainings and clinics to develop quality coaches, trainers, referees and players in anticipation of national and international competitions.

Nicolas said VEEP will also conduct an information campaign in hopes of helping spectators get more understanding of the sport.
