King Fahd receives goodwill messages

GENEVA, 31 July — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd yesterday received messages of congratulations from world leaders on the success of an eye surgery he underwent on Monday.

King Fahd received a telephone call from Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who congratulated the king on the success of the surgery, which took place at the University Hospital in Geneva.

Jordan’s King Abdallah contacted Riyadh Governor Prince Salman yesterday to get reassured about King Fahd’s health after the surgery for the removal of cataract from his right eye. Abdallah wished the Saudi king good health.

Prince Salman received similar calls from Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and Kuwait’s First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, who inquired about the king’s health. King Fahd left the Geneva hospital late Monday.
