RIYADH, 30 August — Over 1,000 ulema (Muslim scholars) and callers from various parts of the world will participate in the ninth international conference being organized here from Oct. 22 to 25 by the Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY).
WAMY secretary-general and head of the conference’s scientific committee Dr. Saleh Al-Wohaibi said 500 scholars and thinkers will come from outside the Kingdom.
The participants will focus on a number of topics including the youth and openness in politics, economy, culture, society and education.
Meanwhile, a 15-day leadership training course for members of the Somali Interim Parliament organized by WAMY concluded in Mogadishu on Wednesday. Dr. Abdulwahab Noorwali, WAMY assistant secretary-general, said the course, attended by 60 Somali MPs, focused on organizational and administrative skills and personality development. (SPA)
