HAIL, 21 September — Al-Ittihad of Jeddah defeated Al-Ta’ie 1-0 to move to the top of the table in the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Cup soccer tournament on Thursday. The match-winner was notched by Ittihad’s Hamad Al-Montashry.
In another match of the tournament played in Jeddah, locall challengers Al-Ahli recorded an easy 4-0 triumph over Al-Sho’ala.
The winners who led 1-0 at the interval thanks to a 15th minute goal by Abdullah Salamah, got goals from Ali Dhawi (54th minute), Fahd Fallata (73rd) and Abdullah Salamah a second time (76th) to emerge deserving winners. In the third match played in Buraidah, Al-Najmah got the better of Al-Raed 3-0. Najmah led 1-0 at the break. They scored through Abu Qadaa (25th), Adel Farehedi (47th) and Saad Al-Dosary just before the end of the match.
