Bandits strike terror near Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, 2 October — A 12-member gang of bandits struck terror in two colonies on the outskirts of Hyderabad, looting nine houses and killing one person early yesterday. Rangareddy district police spokesman Ravi Krishna said the bandits looted Rs. 160,000 in cash and valuables and even locked up two police constables in a house before escaping with the booty. The bandits, wearing police uniforms, were armed with swords and toy pistols.
