Hoax bomb scare on two flights

NEW DELHI, 28 October — A plane landed safely in the eastern city of Patna yesterday following a bomb scare which turned out to be a hoax, officials said. The bomb squad searched two planes after the private Sahara Airlines received an anonymous telephone call which said there was a "bomb on the flight to Bombay." Some 87 passengers on board a Sahara flight on its way to Bombay, were rushed off the plane when it landed in Patna and it was searched by the bomb squad. Another plane on its way to Bombay was also searched. "It was a hoax, Nothing was found in the two flights," said O.N. Bhaskar, city superintendent of police in Patna. Noted film star Manoj Bajpayee was on board Patna-bound Sahara flight. He was taken out of the airport under heavy security. The passengers of the two flights were also searched by security officials at the lounge after disembarking.
