RIYADH, 1 November — The 1st Forex Cargo/OFWBR Open Bowling Tournament rolled off with a big bang at the FAL Bowling Centre. The tournament which is sponsored by the Forex Cargo has a total prize fund worth SR20,000 plus. Mr. Victory “Cocoy” Gaza and Mr. Sim Punla, the general manager and supervisor of the Forex Cargo will award a 30 kgs. Sea cargo voucher to the bowlers who will occupy the 11th - 20th places. The tournament is open to all male bowlers kingdomwide and bowlers outside Riyadh will be classified in Class O. The tournament will end Nov. 29, 2002 (Friday) and the last qualifying day will be on Nov. 27, 2002 (Wednesday) and the last qualifying squad will be at 12:30 midnight. In the format, the bowlers will be divided into four (4) classes (Class O&A, Class B, Class C and Class D). Multiple entries and one block is consist of three (3) games and bowler must enter two (2) blocks for a total of six (6) games series scratch in to order to qualify in each class. During the qualifying round, a handicap of four (4) will be given to Class A bowlers. Classification of bowlers: Class O - 186 above, Class A - 180 - 185, Class B - 170-179, Class C - 160 - 169 and Class D - 159 below.
The tournament is organized by the Overseas Filipino Workers Bowlers of Riyadh (OFWBR) and in cooperation with the FAL Bowling Centre.
