JEDDAH, 1 November — A number of Islamic lectures on Ramadan will be held this week at the World Assembly of Muslim Youth’s auditorium on Sitteen Road, close to the Palestine Street Bridge, organizers said.

“How do we receive Ramadan?” is the topic of a lecture by Aysha Khoja tomorrow (7.00 to 8.30 p.m.). Sakeena Yousef Quicker, Noor Alhuda Miller and Lujain Jordan will speak on “Ramadan: Its spirit, truth and beauty” on Monday (9.30 to 11.00 a.m.)

Organized by the Women’s Committee of the organization, the lectures will be in English and exclusively for ladies. For further information contact: Tel: 660-5740 Ext. 103.

Meanwhile, WAMY launched a fundraising campaign in support of its charitable projects for the benefit of Palestinians. The organization will collect one million signatures (each with one riyal) from wellwishers to express their solidarity with Palestinians. Abdul Wahab Noorwali, WAMY’s assistant secretary-general, hoped that the 10-day campaign would attract a large number of Saudis and expatriates, who have always supported the Palestinian cause. (AN)
