JEDDAH, 19 November 2002 — Prince Khaled ibn Abdullah, chairman of SEPCO Environment, has announced his company’s decision to increase its capital to SR16 million to meet expenses of its growing activities related to environment protection in many parts of the Kingdom.
Addressing a ceremony held here to honor the participants of a seminar on “Man and Environment” in Jizan recently, the prince said his company will contribute part of the capital of Jizan Environmental Service Company, which was established as a result of the seminar.
Prince Khaled distributed a number of shields and certificates of appreciation to the seminar’s participants including officials of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection, Jizan Governorate, Jizan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Health Department in the region and SEPCO. Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghani, former Jeddah mayor and managing director of the company, said SEPCO will open a new plant to treat medical effluents in the Northern Province.
The company has now five such plants in the Kingdom’s main cities. The company has a fleet of well-equipped vehicles to collect medical leftovers and transport them to the main treatment plants.
