RIYADH, 22 November 2002 — Al-Ittihad of Jeddah staged a magnificent rally to down Nasr 4-2 in a thrilling encounter of the King Fahd Cup soccer tournament last night, writes Ali Masoud.
A fine hat trick by Marzouk Al-Otaibi was the highlight of Ittihad’s victory as they fought back after falling into arrears.The fourth Ittihad goal was netted by the ever-reliable Sergio.
For Nasr, Congolese Rock scored both the goals.
Earlier, Al-Shabab and Al-Ittefaq drew goalless in the tournament’s other match played at the Riyadh’s Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Stadium on Wednesday night.
Shabab, after the draw, have gained four points and remain ninth on the table while Ittefaq got only one point and are 11th on the table.
Najma have not yet gained any point.
