Harmony Circle’s cultural nite

JEDDAH, 23 December 2002 — Harmony Family Circle, a forum of Kerala expatriate families in Jeddah, presented a variety of cultural programs and Aslam Nite to mark its third anniversary and Eid Al-Fitr on Friday. Dances presented by little girls and old melodies and new hits rendered by Muhammad Aslam were the highlights.

P.V. Shoukath Ali, president of the Harmony Family Circle opened the function. The programs began with a Mappila song by Abdul Haq. Dance programs by children included Rajastani dance, Kathak, cinematic dances and Oppana, a dance form popular among Muslims of Malabar area in Kerala. It was followed by songs by Kareem Mavoor, Jamal Pasha and Sofia Sunil.
