JEDDAH, 2 January 2003 — Hassan Jamaleddine, undersecretary at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, will soon discuss with Saudi officials the difficulties faced by Egyptian pilgrims during the last Ramadan.
The discussion is also aimed at preventing the repetition of such difficulties in the upcoming Haj in which more than 70,000 Egyptian pilgrims are expected to participate, Al-Madinah reported yesterday.
Hassan will discuss with Saudi officials the reasons for the delay in the return journey of Egyptian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia including the non-availability of sufficient means of transport for the returning pilgrims. The Egyptian government has made the required arrangements to monitor the pilgrims’ accommodations at Makkah and Madinah for this Haj season, Hassan said.
