Ittihad trounce Qadisiya 5-1

JEDDAH, 15 February 2003 — Al-Ittihad of Jeddah trounced Al-Qadisiyah of Dammam 5-1 in the King Fahd Cup soccer tournament at the Prince Muhammad ibn Fahd Stadium in Alkhobar last night.

The winners who led 2-1 at the interval, conceded a goal first when Saeed Al-Wadani scored in the 11th minute.

However, the loss of defender Zakariya Haddaf in the 29th minute, saw Qadisiyah reduced to 10 men and it was Ittihad all the way after that.

They scored through Marilio (44th minute) and Muhammad Noor (injury time) to go 2-1 up at the break.

Noor made it 3-1 soon after resumption. In the 75th minute, Muhammad Al-Issa found the mark with a powerful kick. Two minutes later, Hamza Idrees completed the tally through a header. Ittihad stay at the top with 32 points while Qadisiyah remain at the third spot with 27 points.
