The two hawks sweep across the global skies,

Circling in ever smaller circles,

Puffed with arrogance,

Building their might,

Honing in on their mutual “Prey.”

Does the world,

Do their people,

Understand their unwritten agenda?

Their nefarious plans for Glory

Glory built on destruction, deceit and mayhem

On the death of innocents.

Talons ready to shred,

Annihilate an ancient culture,

The descendants of philosophers, scientists and artists,

The House of Wisdom silenced,

As the two above cast their ominous shadow.

Screeching at the world,

They attempt to build their case,

Linking together unrelated events,

Bringing forth false accusations,

Quoting reports penned by students,

Hoodwinking,

Spying,

Coercing,

Pressuring others

Branding every opposer a terrorist.

Their grandiose plans

To build an empire of dreams

Stigmatized,

As anti war protesters,

By the thousands remain unconvinced.

The two quickly circle back

Playing their dirty game,

Picking up the scimitar of justice,

Using their winning card,

Palestine is remembered, resurrected

A new peace plan brought to the light

To persuade the unwilling majority

Of the need to beat the drums of war.

The gloomy, darkening shadows loom larger,

Now at the last hour,

They unearth the body of bleeding Palestine,

The forgotten Jenin inspections,

Massacred Shatila, Sabra and Qana still under the warps.

Now, in the wake of over sixty vetoes against Palestine,

They try to fix their tarnished image,

Bloodied, wings torn

Talons sinking into the mire,

Standing atop a precipice,

Overlooking a world on the brink of disaster.

Do they still believe their schemes will work,

Against an unsuspecting world?

They fly off to wage another battle,

Blood thirsty for black gold,

They are off to oil their sleek wings.
