SAA Catering Dammam Wins First Place

DAMMAM, 19 April 2003 — Saudi Arabian Airlines Catering Dammam, the airline’s fourth catering facility at King Fahd International Airport, has been awarded the coveted Quality Gold Cube, first place, for 2002 in the Near East and Africa region, by Lufthansa German Airlines. The Dammam unit scored the highest in the entire network consisting of four regions and 93 caterers worldwide. The award is based on criteria including crew feedback, hygiene and food safety and performance monitoring. The purpose-built Dammam unit started operations on Nov. 28, 1999, and is the recipient of the Lufthansa Silver Cube in 2000 and Gold Cube in 2001. Giving all credit to his staff, Khalid S. Sheshah, deputy general manager of the unit, said: “Their dedication and loyalty toward the company and commitment toward their assignments have made this award achievable.” (Saeed Haider)
