JEDDAH, 24 June 2003 — Tanglaw Toastmasters Club of Jeddah, one of the oldest Toastmasters clubs in the Kingdom, has installed a new set of officers with CTM-CL William Araza as president for the next administrative year.
Araza replaced CTM Noriza Guerra, who bowed out after a banner year that saw the club reaping numerous honors, including the President’s Distinguished Club award from Toastmasters International (TMI).
The other newly installed officers are CTM Dan Factoran, vice president education; CTM Renato Lea?o, VP membership; TM Elmer Fuentes, VP public relations; TM Romulo Tangbawan, secretary; CTM Zowfir Zaheed, treasurer; and TM Rabia Abdullah, sergeant-at-arms.

Tanglaw awarded Factoran as the most outstanding toastmaster for the year, Lea?o as the most enthusiastic toastmaster, and CTM Jameson Sabado as most improved toastmaster.
Under the educational portion of their regular meetings, club members and guests engage in contests in three categories: Prepared Speech, Evaluator (to evaluate the prepared speakers), and Table Topics (impromptu speaking), with members acting as judges.
During Thursday’s program, TM Marah Fuentes, a flight attendants supervisor at Saudia Airlines, topped the Best Prepared Speech category with her 4th basic speech project entitled “Welcome On Board,” showing how flight attendants are trained to deal with passengers.
CTM Nenita Palmero, a prominent school teacher, was adjudged Best Evaluator, while CTM KG Guna, president of Hope Toastmasters Club who came as a guest during the event, won the Best Table Topics Speaker award.
