JEDDAH, 6 July 2003 — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, yesterday said the Saudi people and government stand united against terrorists and pledged the hand of justice would reach all those responsible for the May 12 bombings in Riyadh and the following incidents in Makkah and Madinah, the Saudi Press Agency said in a statement.
Speaking in Jeddah to a group of tribal leaders from various parts of the Kingdom who condemned the terrorist acts, the crown prince said sooner or later members of the errant group who carried out the bombings and who are still on the run would be brought to justice.
“The state and the Saudi people are standing side by side to eliminate this errant group and uproot it no matter how long it might take. Those who committed such acts have no faith, belief or morals and are not loyal to their country or government.
“The hand of justice will reach them wherever they might be and they will receive fair and deterrent punishment, God willing,” Prince Abdullah told the tribal chiefs and dignitaries from Makkah, Taif, Taraba, Sabt Al-Alaya, Mahd Addahab, and Laith.
The delegates expressed confidence in the ability of the government in taking the necessary measures to maintain peace and order and stressed their firm stand beside the government against all those seeking to threaten the Kingdom’s security.
