Kanoo to Face Natest in DHL Super Cup Final

ALKHOBAR, 1 August 2003 — In the EPCA DHL Super Cup, Kanoo (197 for 4) beat ADPCO by one wicket after a nail biting finish. The match was tied but due to the one wicket differencial, Kanoo entered the final. ADPCO won the toss and send Kanoo to bat. Capt. Munawar and Zulfiquar Goga opened the innings for Kanoo and put on 122 runs for the first wicket in just 12 overs.

Munawar scored 70 runs while Zulfiquar scored 41 runs.

Ejaz scored a half century in just 22 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 3 boundaries. Prabakar bowled all the three batsmen including Munwar and Zulfiqar in same over.

Chasing a big score Sohrab came to bat with Anwar who was run out in the second over. Rafiq joint Sohrab and took the score to 96 runs when Rafiq was caught after scoring 19 runs.

After Rafiq departure wickets started falling at the other end, while Sohrab scored an unbeaten century (116 runs). It looked certain that ADPCO would shock Kanoo as only 8 runs were required in the last over. But unfortunately Sohrab was at the non striker end and the new batsman could not match the momentum.

Still ADPCO managed to score 197 runs to equal Kanoo.

Majaz Qadri took 3 wickets for 32 runs.

In another match Natest beat Khalifa Gosaibi by 10 wickets. Batting first, Khalifa Al-Gosaibi were all out for 126 runs. Abbas (31 runs) was the top scorer while Halim contributed 25 runs. Barber took 2 wickets for 29 runs.

In reply Natest reached the target in just 15 overs without losing any wickets. Openers Kashif and Nasir scored 88 and 25 runs.
