RIYADH, 15 August 2003 — ABV’s Tomahawk Bombers won convincingly over MODA-GDMW’s D’Patriot Builders group 42-29 in the AFTP League here. During the opening match, the 1st doubles pair of Abe Carullo and Nanding Juco scored 8-5 against Gary Ramos and Jun Corpuz followed by Al Pinpin and Robert dela Rosa who demolished at 8-2 the tandem of Arnel Caburnay and Simeon Valentino in the second game.
Orly Dalida and Ed Galing won 8-3 against Vic Capulong and Ed Minas in the 3rd game and in the 4th game Orly and Obet were overtaken by Roland Dela Cruz and Eoji Lacno 8-2.
Lorry Adalim and Rey Sanchez led 8-6 against Edwin Sajonia and Larry Berroya. Jilani Chaudhry and Lorry routed Ed Galvez and Celso Garcia 8-5 in the last game.
The Bankers contingent led 41-30 to beat Mindanao’s RTC-D Royal Balls. Gilbert Faustino and Ruel Barrayoga won against Allan Malawanda and Faisal Guimbor 8-5. Roel Genson and Gilbert Masias beat Badek Sani and Mike Sharif 8-3 in the 2nd game.
Serge Ariola and Sonny Ocampo did just enough to oust Saidali Malik and Lindi Capal 8-3 in the 3rd game.
Chito Abreau and Boggs Mendoza were nailed 1-8 by the tandem of Jed Alonto and Ali Baracaman while Ed Robillos and Norman Espejo won the tie breaker 8-7 against Jamil Gustaham and partner.
Manny Obligado and Rolly Barrozo won 8-4 over Roger Samain and Jamil in the last game.
Ed Galvez and Gerbie Trazo clawed their way past Al Faisaliah’s sponsored Awalnet-Ters 48-25.Power Brokers team of Felix Pacleb and Lito Hufana overpowered Laguna Tennisters 40-29, while the Aces & Faults mentored by Rey Beninsig and Rene Suarez upset the Shotmakers 48-17.
The Friends group of Ace Espiritu and Boggs Gonzales won against SAIB Net Busters team 41-22.
