JEDDAH, 12 September 2003 — Anti-trade fraud department officials have questioned a Saudi trader in Dammam over allegations that he sold Israeli-made ready-made garments. Shoppers in the Eastern Province had complained about the products. Two teams from the department, an affiliate of the Commerce Ministry, raided the shop and warehouse in the Eastern Province and destroyed the Israeli products. Muhammad Al-Shawi, director general of the ministry’s office in the province, told Al-Watan that the products had come as part of a large consignment of clothes purchased from different sources. He urged the public to inform the ministry about sale of such products in the Kingdom.
