The 23rd edition of the mega IT industry event, Gitex 2003, will be held from Oct. 19-23. More than 35,000 square meters of gross exhibition space had already been sold by the first half of September. Now the organizers of the exhibition, Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), have begun selling locations in the new Sheikh Rashid Hall to provide an additional 7,760 square meters of space.

With tens of thousands of visitors expected, DWTC has brought into use a new registration system called E-Access. The organizers claim that E-Access will allow quick entry to the exhibition halls and reduce queues. To make the best use of E-Access, visitors to Gitex are being asked to pre-register through www.gitex.com/main.html. Pre-registration closes on Oct. 14.

This year a mobile exhibition guide will be provided for Gitex, enabling visitors to have up to the minute event information. The mobile guide will contain the names of all exhibitors plus floor plans, general show/visitor information and a list of all seminars. The guide is in English and may be downloaded free of cost at Gitex. It is available for multiple mobile and PDA platforms, so check the website to ensure you bring an appropriate mobile device.
