JEDDAH, 2 October 2003 — A free medical mission awaits members of the Filipno community at the Philippine Consulate tomorrow. The whole day activity is an offering of Kasapi Congress, in partnership with Pangasinan, Ilocano, and Marantao community organizations in Jeddah.
Aside from the usual medical and dental check-ups, and dispensing of medicines, there will be an optical team to examine OFWs who may want their visions checked.
Kasapi spokesman John Asperilla said that a special table and a donation box for the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) will be put up during the mission.
This year this charity have asked for donations from Filipinos around world because it needs 300 million pesos to sustain many of its humanitarian projects. The PNRC is the first to respond to any calamity anywhere in the Philippines.
Funds will be sent to the headquarters of the PNRC in Manila to be acknowledged properly, Asperilla said.
