AIDS Patient Escapes

JEDDAH, 4 November 2003 — A 27-year-old Moroccan woman with AIDS escaped from King Saud Hospital here. She took her two-year-old son with her. According to security officials at the hospital, the patient was able to escape from the isolation ward because there were no guards there. The hospital has begun investigations to discover why there were no guards at the isolation ward. Recently there have been a number of cases of AIDS patients escaping from hospitals.
