JEDDAH, 18 November 2003 — Saudi Arabia yesterday called for intensified global efforts to stamp out all forms of terrorism. “Terrorism is an international phenomenon which has no religion or nationality,” the Council of Ministers said in a statement after its weekly meeting.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, who chaired the meeting, commended world leaders for their support and solidarity following the Nov. 8 bombing of a residential compound in Riyadh.
“The attack was carried out by a terrorist group with the aim of undermining the Kingdom’s security and stability,” the Cabinet said.
The Cabinet meeting expressed its satisfaction over the agreement reached by the Iraqi Governing Council and the United States on the transfer of power, calling it “a step in the right direction.”
