DETROIT, 20 November 2003 — Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons amassed 24 points and eight assists and Ben Wallace added 15 rebounds and 12 points in the 106-96 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday.
The Lakers (8-3) have lost three straight games on the road despite winning all five of their home outings this season.
Detroit (7-4) picked up 45 points from the bench as the Pistons reserves dominated their Los Angeles counterparts, who produced 14 points.
Richard Hamilton and Corliss Williamson both notched 14 points for the Pistons, who had six players in double figures.
Shaquille O’Neal was in foul trouble for most of the game but still scored 20 points for the Lakers in 31 minutes. Karl Malone added 20 points while Kobe Bryant had 19 and Gary Payton chipped in with 15 points and five assists.

In East Rutherford, Baron Davis had 25 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds to lead the New Orleans Hornets past the New Jersey Nets, 88-85. David Wesley totaled 20 points for the Hornets, including two late three-pointers, while George Lynch pulled down 17 rebounds.

In Minneapolis, Kevin Garnett collected 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists to steer the Minnesota Timberwolves to an 89-76 win over the Denver Nuggets.

In Milwaukee, Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks cruised past the Bucks 101-93.
