HumanSoft, the Kuwait-based human and IT investment company, announced the appointment of Mohammed Kateeb as chief executive officer. The company stated that this is an initiative aimed at providing HumanSoft with the professional leadership and expertise required to enable the organization to effectively execute its regional and international strategies.
The appointment is also an important step for the company because it separates two critical executive management positions — those of CEO and Chairman of the Board, both of which are currently being held by Fahad Al-Othman. Under the new structure, Al-Othman will continue to be the chairman and managing director of the company, while Kateeb will serve as CEO.
“Mr. Kateeb’s appointment is a major step in the process of re-engineering the HumanSoft organization to become an international company with international standards and goals. The creation of two distinct leadership roles demonstrates to our customers, partners, and shareholders that we are moving in the right direction, and that we have the best people in the business guiding and directing our organization,” said Al-Othman.
Kateeb’s appointment is also seen to be signaling the start of a substantial professional hiring phase for HumanSoft, with more than 200 executives of all backgrounds — both administrative and technical — likely to be hired from across the region in 2004.
“HumanSoft is at a very interesting point in its history, as it is poised for rapid growth and expansion over the next 12 months, and that is where the excitement is for me,” said Mohammed Kateeb, newly-appointed HumanSoft CEO. “With its track record of success with major institutional customers like Emirates Airlines, Dubai E-Government, and Kuwait Petroleum Company, HumanSoft has an incredible platform from which to grow and develop as an organization.”
An MBA graduate from the USA, Kateeb comes to HumanSoft after having worked in managerial roles internationally and regionally with Microsoft for more than ten years, most recently as regional director of Microsoft Middle East.
