Philippine Embassy Closed for Holidays

RIYADH, 30 December 2003 — The Embassy of the Philippines will be closed for public transactions starting from today, Dec. 30, and will resume regular business hours on Jan. 3, 2004, according to a press release from the embassy. Dec. 30 is Rizal Day and Jan. 1 is New Year’s Day. Both are observed as non-working holidays in the Philippines. At the embassy in the Diplomatic Quarter, Ambassador Bahnarim Guinomla will lead his staff in commemorating the 107th death anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the country’s national hero. The ambassador will deliver brief remarks following the flag-raising ceremony at 8:00 a.m.
