JEDDAH, 10 January 2004 — Prince Faisal ibn Salman, chairman of Saudi Research & Marketing Group, has honored Sultan Al-Fahd, head of Saudi Research & Publishing Company’s photography section, for his photograph that won international recognition.
Fahd’s photograph highlighting the destruction caused by the terrorist bombing of Al-Muhaya Compound in Riyadh was selected by Reuters as one of the 10 best photographs in 2003.
Prince Faisal commended the Saudi photographer’s achievement and stressed the need to encourage publication of photographs in view of their tremendous impact on readers.
“Saudi Research and Publishing Company will continue to support young Saudi photographers and provide them with the necessary training to improve their performance,” the chairman said.
Fahd thanked Prince Faisal for his support and said it would encourage him to achieve excellence and contribute more to the company’s progress.
