JEDDAH, 17 January 2004 — Two Pakistani women pilgrims died and 16 others were injured in an accident on the Muzdalifa-Arafat Road in Makkah on Thursday.
Shahid Khan, director general at the Pakistan Haj Directorate here, said the pilgrims involved in the accident belonged to Maktab No. 36, Building No. 37. They had arrived from Lahore by a PIA flight on Monday.
The dead were identified as Naziran Begum, wife of Muhammad Aslam, and Inayat Bibi, wife of Muhammad Nazir. Both hailed from Sialkot. The injured, admitted to various health care facilities, are on way to recovery.
The injured, 10 of them women, have been admitted to the orthopedic, neurosurgery and surgical wards of various hospitals in Makkah.
