MAKKAH, 31 January 2004 — The weather in Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa will be partly cloudy during the next 24 hours, the Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection said in a forecast.
Temperatures in Makkah will be between 18 and 32 Celsius, Mina from 17 to 32 and Arafat 17 to 31, the presidency said. Winds in Makkah will be moving to west south-west with a force of 15 to 35 km per hour while in Mina and Arafat moving south-westerly with a force of 10 to 35 km per hour, it said.
Traffic Accident
An Egyptian woman pilgrim died and 13 others injured when a van carrying them collided with a trailer truck in the southern Sirat Obaida town on Thursday, Al-Watan reported.
The pilgrims were on their way to Makkah. According to Col. Saad Al-Maghrebi, director of highway police, accidents of vehicles carrying pilgrims, especially on highways, had reduced by 98 percent.
