JEDDAH, 19 February 2004 — The winners of the week-long Festival on Arts and Music Competition held recently at the Al Hekma International School have been announced.
School principal Belma A. Regis said the winners from various categories were:
Arts – Ariane Roldan, nursery; April Melendez, kindergarten; and Shamae Docanay, preparatory.
Drawing/Coloring – Sandra Tamayo, Grade1; Gabrielle Quijano, Grade 2; Ramsey Fernandez, Grade 3; Riselle Fernandez, Grade 4; Florissa Roque, Grade 5; and Lemuel Dagalea, Grade 6.
Painting – Eduard Villanueva, 4th year, for high school individual category; 2nd year Integrity, for the group category.
In music, the winners were:
Solo – Joana Mance, primary; and Meryem Surmelim, intermediate.
Duet – Angela Salunga and Katheryn Ramos, intermediate; Alyssa Mabalot and Nasrin Caliwag, high school.
Piano – Jane Bautista, elementary beginner; Mary Co., intermediate; and Krizzia Exevea, advance; Elyssa Esteban, high school beginner; Arvin Mendoza, intermediate; and Maxine Hipos, advance.
Guitar – Carmina Ortega, HS intermediate; and Jeff Bernaldez, advance.
The group Brownies emerged as winner in the “battle of the bands” category.
