RIYADH, 27 February 2004 — D'Marvelous played like there was no tomorrow en route to their second straight Team of the Week award during the eighth session of the NAK Park USA Sunday Night Bowling League 8th Conference here.
Falling victim to D'Marvelous's firepower was Schneider Electric. The scoreline was 27-12 on total pinfalls of 4,216 and 3,907.
D'Invaders also had a good night at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes but not good enough to deny D'Marvelous back-to-back honors, as they trounced Jadawel Bowling club 26-10 on total pinfalls of 4,234 and 3,832.
D'Invaders, however, managed to snatch the individual Bowler of the Week honors when Romy Zafe rolled the high series of 922 on lines of 214, 208, 242 and 258. Unlimited VI dealt defending champion Al Mishari Pinbusters a second defeat in as many meetings 21-11 (3,968-3,813), Saudi Tornado whipped Blue Blood 22-16 (4,049-4,012) and HTG-Margie nipped Okey Lang 13-12 (3,807-3,742) in the other matches in the five-man team league event sponsored by NAK Park USA.
Toppling the pins at regular intervals, D'Marvelous swept the win points and bonus points for scores of 900, 950 and 1,000 with games of 1,008, 1066, 1028 and 1,114. Leading D'Marvelous onslaught was Fhel Ramos who carded 898, while Jim Lasaca added 876 to go with the 816 by Nestor Tercio, 794 by Nelson Complido, 586 by Mar de Lima and 246 by Freddie Aquino.
Tony Vicario sealed the top two places in the individual standings for D'Invaders when he also breached the 900 mark at 902. Teammate Ronald Bautista tallied 832, while Fernie Ballano added 806 and Fidel Ferrer 772.
Unlimited VI got a big lift from the trio of Ding Balagtas, Ely Fanugao and Rod Tagaban who fired 828, 819 and 800 in that order.
Chief in Saudi Tornado's victory was the combined efforts of Shahan Lee with 851, Mohammad ibn Sultan with 843 and Hakeem ibn Mosaad with 830.
