RIYADH, 29 February 2004 — The Saudi Electricity Company is to announce projects worth SR5 billion, according to Minister of Electricity and Water Dr. Ghazi Al-Gosaibi. They will include SR790 million worth of projects to boost power generation in the region, including developing areas like Jizan, Bisha and Asir. He also reaffirmed the Kingdom’s determination to open the sector to private investment. The company presented investment opportunities for electricity generating and transportation projects to investors both here and abroad, he said.
