HIV Positive Woman Arrested in Madinah

MADINAH, 5 March 2004 - Police in Madinah arrested a Moroccan woman infected with HIV after she escaped from a hospital in Jeddah last October, Al-Watan reported. Police arrested the woman in the Aziziyah neighborhood. According to police, a Saudi man from Madinah helped the woman escape from hospital four months ago and provided her with housing. On two separate occasions, he took the woman to hospital for blood tests, once claiming that she was his sister and the other time she was his father's wife. The father of the son raised the alarm after receiving a call from the hospital informing him about the HIV results for his wife and daughter, both of whom are abroad. Police have arrested both the man and the Moroccan woman.
