JEDDAH, 12 March 2004 — In the 22nd week, the last qualifying week of the Inter-Company Family Bowling League organized by the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) and being played at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center, the Sadafco-Saudia Majestic, NPS, Sunsilk Shampoo and the Tipong Suave entered the much-awaited stepladder finals.
The Sadafco-Saudia Majestic earned a total point of 419 after the 22nd week. And in last week’s of action, Sadafco posted 37 points through Nonie Yap, Dante Calapatia, Bheng Cerbito, Jess Cerbito and Luz Pagaran. Yap and Calapatia had a separate series scratch of 550 and 546 while Bheng and Jess scored a series of 532 and 508. Pagaran, likewise, contributed a series of 550.
The NPS quintet compiled 413 after the 22nd week and garnered 34 points in the last week. Goying Salazar led with a series of 607, followed by Emil Payongayong (571), Romy Vargas (528), Beth Concepcion (462) and Charrie Cruz (418).
Sunsilk Shampoo made it to the finals registering 30.5 points and submitted overall total points of 376.5 to secure third position. Powering Sunsilk Shampoo was Andy Erena, who tallied a three game series scratch of 539. Rudy Punzalan and Jun Lasaga posted a separate series of 537 and 503. Puri Parena together with Fatima Jintarat scored a series of 489 and 461.
The Tipong Suave bowling team secured the fourth position with 371 points and pocketed 42.5 points in the last round of the competition. Val Magsino and Vhoi Ycong scored a separate series of 561 and 554. Zaldy Parinas, Rose Parinas and Yolly Santos added of 506, 501 and 464.
Meanwhile, the last remaining slot in the final stepladder match will be contested by Mizan/Salam Rice, Cee Bee Aviation Co., Al Nafie Steel Co., Saudi Pearl Insurance and the Al-Zamil Heavy Industries. The teams with the highest win points will automatically gain the last berth.
Mizan/Salam Rice team had total points of 344.5 while Cee Bee Aviation Co. got 338 points. The Al-Nafie Steel Co., Saudi Pearl Insurance and the Al-Zamil Heavy Industries teams recorded total points of 338, 330 and 317.
