MADINAH, 13 March 2004 — Thirteen female students suffered smoke inhalation, shock and minor injuries after a fire broke out in a local intermediate school, Al-Madinah newspaper reported. A faulty electrical circuit in an air-conditioning unit is believed to have caused the fire. Three Civil Defense rescue teams rushed to the site along with Red Crescent volunteers. Nine of the injured were taken to King Fahd Hospital in Madinah while the rest were treated on site.
