RIYADH, 19 March 2004 — Blue Blood came out on top during the seventh session of the United Electronics Co. (EXTRA) Tuesday Night Bowling League 4th Conference at the Riyadh Bowling Club here.
Blue Blood bowled hard to earn Team of the Week award, beating Triple ‘R’ 26-14 on total pinfalls of 3,423 and 3,155. Despite the victory Blue Blood still have a lot of work to do if they hope to enter the upper half of the standings in the four-man team tournament sponsored by United Electronics through assistant marketing manager Ammar Issa.
ABV RG sent the previous week’s honoree, Untouch-A-Bowl, reeling by scoring a decisive 24-17 triumph on total pinfalls of 3,310 and 3,250.
Snap Shots 4 whipped Xtreme OPS 20-11, KIA’s Pride rolled back Starstrucks 23-16 (3,279-3,260) and Ara Bowlers silenced Top Gun 22-19 (3,275-3,260) in the other matches.
The unmatched team in action, RBC Patriots, tallied 24 points and total pinfalls of 3,315. Cas Encila of Ara Bowlers grabbed Bowler of the Week honors at 871. Reny Dimapilis was the hottest swinger on the lines for the second straight week, carding the high series of 923.
Dimapilis rolled games of 200, 215, 246, 202 and 60 handicap at the vanguard of a fluent Blue Blood attack that also included contributions of 853 from Benjie Macatuno, 850 from Frank Ranera and 797 from Egai Asuncion.
Nestor Tercio and August Yema led ABV RG with 864 and 838 respectively, while Elmer Penoso added 784, Alex Paguila 443 and Darcy Odono 381. Freddie Aquino matched Tercio’s 864 to become the other Ara man in the top five of the week’s individual standings that also includes No. 3 James Salva of Starstrucks at 869.
Jean Sabalburo led Snap Shots 4 at 847 while William Ybay led KIA’s Pride with 825.
