MUSCAT, 13 April 2004 — Oman exported 536 million rials ($1.4 billion) worth of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) last year, 30.5 percent more than in 2002, local newspapers reported yesterday, citing official figures. Revenues from LNG exports in 2003 accounted for 15 percent of total oil and gas income last year, they said. “Within a short span of time, Oman LNG has been successful in marketing and concluding sale deals with foreign companies,” the National Economy Ministry said in a statement carried by the state news agency ONA.
