DAMMAM, 30 April 2004 — Kanoo CC and Strikers CC lost in the Swistar-sponsored DCA League tournament played at DCA Grounds in Dammam.
Kanoo CC lost against Unique CC. Kanoo won the toss and invited Unique to bat first. Unique top order failed and were 14 for 4 at one stage. But Farooq, Salim and Moin performed well scoring 36, 26 and 20 respectively and helped their team in setting a decent total of 136. Ameer and Sikandar took 2 wickets each and Nizam 3.
In reply, Kanoo batsmen started disastrously as their openers fell cheaply. They never regained momentum as the rest of the batsmen fumbled miserably being all-out for meager 46 runs. Only Ansar with 22 runs stood out. Syed and Waqar grabbed 2 wickets each and Farooq 3. Unique won by 90 runs.
Bridgestone prevail over Strikers. Strikers won the toss and on electing to bat first ultimately crawled to 83 all out. None of the batsmen were able to cross double figures. Naufal came up with a 4-wicket haul. In reply, Bridgestone’s top order failed to contribute leaving them struggling at 32 for 5 in 10 overs.
Later Sadiq and Shareef dug in with a 43 runs partnership and helped their team cruise past the target with 3 wickets in hand and 3 overs to spare. Shareef played some delightful strokes in his 31. Fiyas took 2 wickets.
