RIYADH, 30 April 2004 — Mannex dela Torre powered the Kamandag 2 bowling team to capture the best bowler and the best team awards in the 7th week of the SkyFreight Forwarders/Kabayan Hotel Thursday Inter-Commercial Bowling League being played at the FAL Bowling Alley.
With an average of 208, Mannex dela Torre toppled a four-game series scratch of 833, and captured the coveted best bowler of the week honor.
Dela Torre’s devastating form helped his team clinch the best team of the week award by garnering 16 points, a score that demolished Batch 2004 team captained by Weng Lloren.
Ave Tena and Rey Mondoza contributed separate impressive series of 797 and 792 in four games. Fred Dilapdilap and Edgar Buenaventura shared an important series of 604 and 592. Kamandag toppled a total team handicap output of 3,758 pinfalls.
Batch 2004 Eric Nunez, Romy Bakian and Weng Lloren posted separate four-game series scratch of 689, 663 and 662. Diony Tumbaga scored 501 in three games with Leo Mabunga 501 in three games.
Jing Jimenez posted a series scratch of 461 in three outings. Batch 2004 garnered an overall team output handicap of 3,471 and registered four points.
The jubilant Saudi British Bank mentored by Vic Marzo upset heavy favorite Stars & Stripes, captained by JR Bagon (14-4). Bernie Magbag and Romy Cabrillas dismantled the fighting Stars & Stripes by tallying separate four-game series scratch of 651 and 726. Ramil Espiritu hit a series of 651 while Boy Borre shot 583 series.
Posting the best series score for Stars & Stripes team was Willie Ortega with 680 points. Babes Nival and JR Bagon downed 652 and 632 series in four games, respectively. Allan dela Rosa squeezed 606 series in four games while Alex “kapitana” Lanting got a series scratch of 341 in two games.
