Jordan to Host IOSCO Meeting

AMMAN, 14 May 2004 — Jordan will host from May 17-20 the 29th annual conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions, the first time the Madrid-based IOSCO will meet in the Middle East. Jordan Securities Commission Chairman Bassam Saket said in statements published yesterday by the Jordanian press that the conference will bring together around 500 participants from more than 100 countries. Participants which have registered to attend the conference include the Hong Kong Securities Commission, the Shanghai Securities Commission, the Bahrain Monetary Agency and the Saudi Arabia Stock Market.
