DAMMAM, 21 May 2004 — In the second week of EPCA Super Cup Tournament, sponsored by R.H. Al-Marri Est. Abqaiq, AGE scored a three wickets win over Gosaibi Cricket Club. Gosaibi piled up 176 on first strike. Hidayath Hussain and Amin Saifullah put on 52 (3x4), 4x6), with Hidayath scoring a breezy 41 off 16 balls. Amin Saifullah also batted well for 42 (3x4, 1x6) runs.
Abbas (21) and Wasiullah (20) delighted the crowd with some fine shots as AGE's Atif three for 15 and Abul Hasan three for 23 stood out. AGE's openers gave their team bright start. Irfan Farooqui was in good form, scoring 52 runs. He was well supported by Asif (24) runs, and Imran Farooqui made a quick-fire 44 (2x4, 2x6) off 18 balls as AGE won in 19.2 overs. Abbas bagged two for 41.
Adpco defeated Nawab XI by 5 wickets. Nawab XI batted first and they scored 101 in 17 overs. Their main scorer was Nabir 18 (2x4). Sampat and Mumtaz Ali grabbed three wickets each. Going for the target, Adpco lost five wickets in crossing the score with ease in 13 overs. Parbaker scored 28 and Mumtaz Ali scored 25. Amin took two for 36.
Natest beat Hyderabad Blues by 66 runs. Natest batted first and scored 192 for 4 in 20 overs. Mumtaz played well for 72 (4x4), 5x6) runs and was well supported by Waseem Malik (69). Hyderabad Blues's Tanveer claimed 2 for 20 runs.
Hyerabad Blues were then shot out for 124 in 17 overs. Tanveer scored 64 runs and Taj scored 15 runs. Naveed Akram bowled well and captured three wickets.
Meanwhile, Kaleem Ul-Shareef, general manager, of R.H.Al-Marri Est. assured EPCA officials his full support for promoting cricket in the Kingdom.
Farhat Mahmood, on behalf of EPCA thanked Kaleem Ul-Shareef for his efforts in introducing R.H. Al-Marri Est. to EPCA and looked forward to its continuous support in the future. The Super Cup Tournament is divided into two groups of 5 teams playing each other in a round robin format.
