JEDDAH, 26 May 2004 — Summer nights in Al-Abna village are festive with wedding ceremonies, reported Okaz. During the summer, almost every night there is a wedding — perhaps of a young man for the first time or of an old man for the second or third time. Shitaiwi Al-Ghamdi, one of the residents, said that the village did not have any unmarried women and was worth an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. He added that the absence of unmarried women was due to a joint agreement between villagers to reduce marriage expenses, providing punishment for anyone who violates the rules and using any extra money for developing the village.
