Chemindix Conference in Bahrain From Sept. 27

ALKHOBAR, 5 July 2004 — The Saudi Arabian International Chemical Sciences Chapter of the American Chemical Society and the Bahrain Society of Chemists are jointly organizing the 6th International Conference and Exhibition on Chemistry in Industry (Chemindix 2004), which will take place on Sept. 27-29, 2004 in Manama, Bahrain.

According Hadi M. Dossary, a spokesperson for the Chemindix 2004 organizers, the conference will include a special session titled “Petroleum-Based Fuels: Future Challenges and Opportunities.” The conference will cover a wide range of petroleum and petrochemical issues that are critical for the development and advancement of the oil industry in the Gulf region and in other parts of the world.

A large number of technical topics will also be addressed, including oil and gas production, refining and petrochemical technologies, catalysis, progress in polymer sciences, water and environment, oilfield chemicals and corrosion sciences, analytical chemistry and basic research.

Three courses will be conducted on Sept. 25 and Sept. 26, in conjunction with the conference: 1. Practical Problem Solving in Chemical Analysis; 2. Providing a Quality Environment for the Analytical Laboratory; 3. Transportation Fuels Technology.

The conference will be an excellent opportunity for scientists and engineers from different parts of the world to meet and discuss the rising challenges in the petroleum and petrochemical industries. The Chemindix exhibition, which will be held parallel to the technical program, will allow the participating companies to display their latest technologies and services.
